The surroundings
In Murau (max. 3 min. drive) there are several supermarkets, a butcher's shop and bakery. There are also many restaurants where you can eat well.
Due to its southern location in the Alps, there are more than 260 sunny days a year. The chalet is also located in a beautiful setting for the summer. The historic town of Murau and the Kreischberg golf course (18 holes) areabout 3 minutes away. There are many hiking trails (eg on the Kreischberg, on the Sölk pass). In the surrounding area there are many possibilities for cycling, mountain biking, hiking, but also rafting and canoeing are among the possiblilities. There are beautiful lakes for swimming and several fishing opportunities. The tourist office in the region is very active and offers a lot of information about hiking, cycling, etc.
Murau has its own brewery, which is becoming more and more famous throughout Europe This is also worth a visit.

In the summer months, the Murtalbahn steam locomotive runs 65 kilometers directly along the Mur between Murau (Styria) and Tamsweg (Salzburgland).
